Greg Muir is the Managing Director of Safety and Emergency Management Solutions Pty Ltd.

Greg has 34 years experience working in the surface coal mining industry in various operational roles, including 17 years as an Open Cut Examiner/Shot Firer and 15 years of Queensland Open Cut Mines Rescue Service. In the past 10 years Greg has provided HSE and risk management services to the coal mining industry in Australia.

Greg has a Graduate Diploma in Health Safety and Environment from the Queensland University of Technology, is an accredited and experienced ICAM Lead Investigator, and maintains Queensland Surface Coal Supervisor, Standard 11, Confined Space Entry and Safe Work at Heights competencies.

Safety and Emergency Management Solutions (SEMS) provides expertise in Safety & Health Management Systems, Risk Management, Emergency Preparedness, Contractor HSE Management, and Working at Heights and Confined Space auditing.

SEMS consults predominantly to surface coal mining companies in Queensland's Bowen Basin however has undertaken, and is keenly interested in, work under the Queensland and NSW Work Health and Safety legislation and Codes of Practice, as well as the NSW Coal Mine Health and Safety legislation.
